IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL VSTK/P USERS

Please read this important message concerning virus signatures!

In order to provide our customers who use the latest version of VSTK/VSTKP with the highest level of protection possible, we have added two new VDL sets (http://update.cybersoft.com) that require at least VSTK/VSTKP version 166 (VFind version 13.11.3) and another two that require at least VSTK/VSTKP version 168 (VFind version 15.1.0). In order to activate these new VDL sets, you will have to download a replacement vdl.list file and replace the one included in the TAR file every time you update.

RELEASE OF VSTK/P 165

CyberSoft is announcing the official release of VSTK/P Package Version 165 today (Jan. 30, 2004). We will begin shipping on the next business day (Feb. 2, 2004). VSTK/P 165 is a rollup release. Many Users are already using a version of this release as a Beta version because it was not released officially. This corrects that problem by making it an official release. We strongly suggest that Users upgrade their binaries to this version; however, Users should be aware that VSTK/P 166 will be released no later than February 26, 2004.

VSTK & VSTKP NEW VERSION 165 TO BE AVAILABLE IN FEBRUARY 2004 The VSTK/P Package Release 165 will be available in February 2004. This new version contains several enhancements, including a new automated VDL upgrade system, improved faster logical OR operation in VFind, and RAR decoding in UAD. In addition, all of the example scripts have been rewritten and new examples have been written. In general, this new release is a significant enhancement over all prior releases and is strongly recommended. We have also added many new functions for our customers who are using VFind and UAD as part of their email scanning systems; the latest being features to unbuffer piping for use in Unix deamond processes.

Cybersoft has just completed a new version of their macro disinfection tool called MVFilter. This new version (MVFilter 5.0) contains a new feature called Raven. To quote Edgar Allen Poe, your virus is "Never More". This new version of our MVFilter tool is unlike other AV disinfection tools because:

1) Will not leave ghosts (macro code) in the file(s)
2) Removes ghosts (macro code) which remain in the file after disinfection by other AV disinfection tools.
